Easter Day!

Since I have recently become a closet-Anglican, I now own a 1928 Book of Common Prayer and was particularly edified, challenged, and encouraged by the Epistle reading this morning, in light of Christ’s resurrection and the sermon on 1 Corinthians 15:

“If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on the things above, not on the things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.”

– Colossians 3:1-4

I also found the Collect a fitting prayer:

“O God, who for our redemption didst give thine only begotten Son to the death of the Cross, and by his glorious resurrection hast delivered us from the power of our enemy; Grant us so to die daily from sin, that we may evermore live with him in the joy of his resurrection; through the same thy Son Christ our Lord. Amen.”

May we never lose the joy of celebrating Christ’s glorious resurrection on Easter Sunday!

He is risen!

P.S. I also enjoyed having communion at Easter lunch today — my first time having communion in a home (like they did in Acts 2:46). What a joyous day!!
